Meet the Sightline Teachers

DIANA TURNER
Diana has taught and directed theatre for youth for over 20 years. The past 2 years, she directed the full-length production of The Secret Adversary and The Tempest with her high school Performance Class and an original play and fairy tales with her Play Devising class. Diana has a Master's degree in education and also taught in APS for several years. She homeschooled all three of her children through high school. She was the Drama Director/Teacher at the Rio Grande Enrichment Studies (RGES) where she produced The Count of Monte Cristo, The Sound of Music, Twelfth Night, Fiddler On The Roof, and more. She began Hope Drama where she produced plays for younger students. Diana was actively involved in Albuquerque's musical theatre and opera scene for many years. She loves JESUS and all things theatre!

CARRIE ROSE
Sketching, pen and ink drawing, sculpting, painting with watercolor, acrylic, and oil paints, working with scratchboards, handcrafting paper mache, clay & ceramic work, creating collages, producing textile art, designing handmade soaps and candles, utilizing chalk and oil pastels...these are the summation of decades of delightful pursuits of our new art teacher Carrie Rose. She acknowledges that we are made in the image of God, the Great Artist Himself, whose endless creativity and flair define all of His perfect Creation. She considers it her privilege to cultivate these abilities intentionally and joyfully with other students of art. Carrie has taught fine art for around 5 years with Soli Deo Gloria and Calvary Co-ops.

TONJA BRANDT
Tonja graduated from the UNM with a Bachelor of Arts in Music degree in 2012. Tonja is active in her church Praise team and has directed may children's choirs and musicals as well as music director for many VBS programs. She has been a private voice teacher for over 20 years. She teaches students of all ages and is proud to have helped several students prepare for and be accepted into All State Choir. Recently, she was the K through 5th grade general music teacher and middle school choir teacher at a local public charter school. Tonja's goal is to make music fun ad engaging, hoping to instill a lifelong love of music and a desire to continue to grow and improve a student's skills. As a former homeschool mom, she sees the value of a program like this are wishes something similar was available when her children were young.

TONIA CHRISTIANSEN
Tonia has a degree in biology. She is a certified elementary school teacher and also certified to teach mid-school science. Tonia was also a Christian homeschool parent who homeschooled her children through elementary school, She taught elementary school for almost 20 years in APS and at Hope Christian School. She is a lifelong learner like most teachers and homeschool parents. Tonia is also a gardener, certified personal trainer, and health coach. While her 3 kids are grown now, and she and her husband are retired from their full-time jobs, they still love being involved in kid’s lives.

ROBERT VOSS
Robert studied electrical engineering at UNM while interning with Wavefont Sciences Optics and Instrumentation for four years. He has run his own IT business since 2004. He has extensive experience working with clients in scientific fields. He has eight children, all of whom are homeschooled. Robert has a deep passion for teaching children to be scientists, to follow the scientific method, and to come to the knowledge that our understanding is limited and generally incomplete, as only God is the completion of knowledge.

AMY SORBELLO
Amy has a degree from UNM in Political Science and French. She’s lived in France, and Cameroon and Burkina Faso in West Africa when not living in New Mexico. She loves history, political science, both of which she has taught in homeschool co-ops along with French, English Composition and Essay Writing, Economics and Psychology. Having both extensively studied and taught Ancient History before, she’s excited to share her passion for history with students. Along with history, Amy has a love for Literature and looks forward to delving into some fun and beautiful writings from ancient times. She has also written an essay writing curriculum. In her spare time she loves to read and do pottery, which always reminds her that we are clay in God’s hands and is happy He is in charge of shaping her according to His design.
