All levels of skills in acting will enjoy learning and growing their acting abilities. This class is also excellent for students who are new to theatre to learn learn foundational drama skills.
Class Description:
In this class, students will learn how to grow their actor’s toolbox- the body, voice and imagination as they create exciting and believable performances. They will explore the latest theatre techniques through character development, drama games, theatre exercises, puppetry and scene work.
Students will:
Master the “actor’s toolbox” by unpacking the techniques for theatrical voice, movement and creativity
Activate their imagination through drama games, puppetry, masks and improvisation
Perform Aesop’s Fables at the Showcase
Create their own Greek myth
Costumes:
All students will need black pants and a long sleeve black shirt for the showcase performance. No tight fitting closes please. We will will add costume pieces to this basic black.
Homework:
In class learning will be the primary focus, but there will be some homework such as memorizing a monologue and completing a few written assignments.
