Who is this class for?

Elementary and Middle School Students who want to experience hands-on-science labs. No reading requirements needed. 

Class Description:

The Science Labs class this year will follow the resource “Science in the Ancient World”. Science concepts will be learned in the context of ancient history. Students will learn about some of the great scientific minds of the ancient world while learning about the scientific principles they discovered through participation in hands on experiments and activities. Some of the natural philosophers are Hippocrates, Aristotle, Archimedes. Nicholas of Cusa, and Leonardo da Vinci. Just a few areas of science that will be explored are physical science , biology, and astronomy. Students will apply the scientific method throughout the class.

Student Will:

  • View science through a Biblical Creation worldview
  • Use cooperative learning to engage in science labs
  • Conduct experiments to explore  what they have learned.
  • Learn to use the measurement tools of science

Homework:

Students will conduct labs in class. 

Grading:

This class is not graded. Parents who wish for their middle school student to receive a grade must talk with the teacher.
