Who is this class for?
All levels of skills in acting will enjoy learning and growing their acting abilities. This class is also excellent for students who are new to theatre to learn learn foundational drama skills.
Class Description:
Drama students will embark on a thrilling journey through the Middle Ages to unleash their creativity. They will use their imagination, bodies, and voices to master engaging theatre techniques through character development, drama games, improvisation, and scene work. Culminating in a Spring Showcase, this class offers a nurturing environment where students build confidence, teamwork skills, and a love for performance art. Join us to discover the magic of theatre and create unforgettable moments on stage! Whether your child is new to acting or has prior experience, they will find inspiration and growth in this dynamic and enriching class.
Students will:

- Master the “actor’s toolbox” by unpacking the techniques for theatrical voice, movement and creativity

Be introduced to basic acting techniques and skills.
Foster creativity and imagination through improvisation exercises.
- Develop confidence in speaking and performing in front of others.
- Work collaboratively in group settings.
- Explore different forms of dramatic expression, such as pantomime, storytelling, and role-playing.
- Explore different characters and perspectives.
- Build awareness of body language, facial expressions, and vocal tone.
- Rehearse and perform short scenes or a play in the Spring Showcase.
Costumes:
All students will need black pants and a long sleeve black shirt for the showcase performance. No tight fitting closes please. We will will add costume pieces to this basic black.
Homework:
In class learning will be the primary focus, but there will be some homework such as memorizing a monologue and completing a few written assignments.
Grading:
This class is not graded.
